Marriage annulled; groom is a woman

cellor D.J. Alissandratos has annulled the marriage of a 17-yearold girl who testified her 19-yearold "husband" turned out to be a woman.

The girl's attorney, Audrey Scott, presented a birth certificate in court showing her client's spouse was born a woman. Homosexual marriages are forbidden by Tennessee law.

The minister who married the couple in a well-attended, formal church ceremony testified all the parties to the narriage thought the groom was a man. He said the couple had dated for several years and the bridegroom had male characteristics. The minister said the bridegroom had been taking male hormones.

The

couple separated months after their marriage.
